I recently made a visit to Hundred Mile Brewery in Tempe to talk with head brewer Nick to get his impression on a WC Pilsner I had brewed. He liked the beer but admitted he is NOT a fan of Nelson Sauvin hops. I guess you either love or hate Nelson Sauvin hops! Here's the recipe. I will brew the recipe again, this time using citra hops instead ;)
If you find yourself anywhere near Tempe AZ, I highly recommend giving Hundred Mile a visit!
We had a nice time talking about beer styles and hopping methods. I sampled several of his beers and as usual they were excellent. My favorite was the Cream Ale collab they did with Dragoon Brewing in Tucson. The beer was clean, crisp and flavorful with a nice malty/corn backbone that was quite refreshing and crushable. It was brewed in honor of the ASU vs. U of A football rivalry weekend.
I was fortunate enough to taste test some hop water they are releasing for "Dry January". They decided to use some sparkling water (20psi) they always have on hand and spike it with some quantum Abstrax hop terpenes. I was pleasantly surprised how good they tasted and decided to adopt the same technique to make some quick and easy hop water.
Since I have a soda stream dispenser at home, I can make sparkling water anytime. So I whipped up a batch and added 2-3 drops of Citra Abstrax hop terpene extract. The result was quick, easy and delicious! I plan to have this available on tap for the so-called "dry January" if I decide to go this route.....
Funny story: Nick said last year's "Dry January" was one of the best months the brewery had all year, LOL. Apparently anyone who comes to a brewery in January has zero interest in dry January :)

I always love visiting hundred mile when I am in town! Great suggestion for "dry January." I will definitely make up a batch of hop water.
